AWP Update: The Schmoozing Thus Far

1. Wednesday night, met up with Anne Haines, blogging buddy who was, up until this weekend, an AWP virgin.

2. Met up with Kelly McQuain of Community College of Philadelphia, who introduced me to some lovely folks from the Low Residency MFA Program at the University of New Orleans.

3. Ran into John Gallaher. Again. Remember our first encounter?

4.Wednesday evening in the hotel bar I met up with Dan, Mike, Jacob and Aaron of Barrelhouse. I first met these guys at AWP in Atlanta, and was happy to see them again. A good time was had by all at a small bar around the corner from the hotel.

5. Ended up getting in to a debate about poetic aesthetics with a group of grad students from Rutgers--a little shout out to Owen, Mike, and Jaime.

6. Met Jeff Grieneisen and Courtney Ruffner of Manatee Community College in Brandenton, FL. Nice couple who run Florida English.

Around 10:30-11:00-ish, I went back to the hotel room and crashed
